A ribbon-cutting was held by the Atkinson Chamber of Commerce on Friday, Sept. 27 for “Over the Moon Child Care” to celebrate the opening of the newest childcare facility in Atkinson.
Chelsey Moon, the owner of “Over the Moon”, has had over five years of experience in the childcare business, and is excited to use her talents to help out the community of Atkinson by doing what she loves.
“I have always enjoyed working with children,” Moon said. “I love being able to spend that extra time with my own children when they’re young, while simultaneously watching other children develop. I also know that daycare is certainly a necessity no matter where you go.”

After two years on the road, El Trebol has officially found a permanent residence at the former Stockman’s Café, located at the Atkinson Sale Barn.
Osvaldo and Carmen Sanchez first started El Trebol as a food truck on June 27 of 2022. Contrary to what some would believe, that was always the end goal for the couple.
“That was it, we just wanted to be a food truck,” said O. Sanchez.
But now, over two years later, the couple has taken over the small café located at the Atkinson Sale Barn, which has allowed them to turn El Trebol from a food truck into a restaurant.

Pam and Chris Winer of Atkinson are bringing something new to the market of scares and horrors in the area with a mobile haunted house called “Trailer of Terror”, which is set to make its debut this Halloween season.
For the longest time, the Winer family has loved Halloween and the scares that come with the holiday. In the past, the family has even created haunted houses in the area that saw some success. However, for the better part of two decades, the family has hung up its hat when it comes to scaring and Halloween antics.
“Our family has had the desire to build another haunted house for several years,” P. Winer stated. “Basically, since we built the last one in 2006.”
However, in those 18 years since the Winer’s have built their most recent haunted house, their family has grown, and the memories of the past have become more and more distant.

Kylee Borg of Stuart will be seeing exactly what her body and brain are capable of in less than two weeks, when she takes on the Cowboy 100 ultra marathon, which begins on Saturday, Sept. 14 in Atkinson. In junior high, Borg was a long-distance runner. Aside from that, her experience when it comes to distance-running is very minimal. Sure, she managed to run a half-marathon in Lincoln in 2013, but she promised herself she’d never do that again. But now, just over ten years later, Borg is getting ready to take on 100 straight miles of the Cowboy Trail as she prepares to conquer something that some may see as an impossible task. Grab a copy of this week's Atkinson Graphic to read the full story of Borg's journey in running!
