1982 X-c record broken
The Plainview Pirate Cross Country team took to the field for their first events of the season last week with great success. One of the major highlights for the runners was the breaking of a school record that has stood since 1982, which was broken by Jordan Mosel at the Niobrara-Verdigre meet, with his run of 17:59 in the 5k race. 60th Anniversary
The family of Dennis and Delores Hoffman have requested a card shower in honor of the couple's 60th wedding anniversary, which is Sept. 17th, 2020.

A Plainview ladies softball team was recently crowned tournament champions in the Northeast Nebraska Women’s Slowpitch League. Members of the team include, front row (l-r): Brittany Waldow, Brittany White, Abby Krueger, Jen Hodson and Ashlee Masat; and back row (l-r): Nicole White, Sonya Legate, Sara Krueger, Randee Rix and Kari Ekberg. Kenny and Paige Albin of Plainview are parents to new twins: Ellison Renee` (left), and Hazel Paige (right), born to them on July 20, 2020.
Hazel Paige Albin was born at 7:51 a.m., was 6 lbs., 5 oz. and 19 ¼ inches long, and Ellison Renee` Albin was born at 7:53 a.m., was 5 lbs., 8 oz. and was 19 inches long.
Grandparents are Kreg and Renee` Mitteis of Orchard and Terri Albin of Plainview.
Great-grandparents are Arvid and Renita Erb of Orchard, Bill Mitteis of Royal and Marge May of O’Neill.
Community Service now a Graduation Requirement
By the time a student is ready to graduate from Plainview Public Schools, he or she has to have a total of 240 credits. Plainview Public Schools has recently implemented community service for grades 9-12 as part of the graduation requirements.
