CONGRATULATIONS to the local thespians who punched their tickets to the 2025 NSAA State Speech Championships with great performances at districts yesterday! Area qualifiers and their events are as follows:
West Holt: Madison Kratz - Informative
Stuart: Dawson Heiser - Extemporaneous, Persuasive, and POI. Maddux Alder - Entertainment, Humorous Prose, and OID. Jasmine Davis - Poetry, Serious Prose, and Informative. Drew Schmaderer - Serious Prose, POI, and OID. Matthew Yemma - Persuasive, Informative, and OID. Thomas Paxton - Humorous Prose, Extemporaneous, and OID.
The 2025 NSAA State Speech Championships will be held at Kearney High School. Kratz will compete in the Class C1 state competition on Thursday, March 27, while the Broncos will compete in the Class D2 state competition on Friday, March 28.

FINAL: Summerland - 55, West Holt - 48. Congratulations to the West Holt Huskies on a fourth-place finish in the 2025 Class C2 State Tournament!
Going into the final quaerer of play, the Huskies trail the Bobcats 46-34.
After a solid second quarter, the Huskies have cut their deficit down to just six. It's 27-21 in favor of Summerland at the half!

FINAL: Cross County - 45, West Holt - 43. The Huskies will play for third place tomorrow at 11:00 a.m. in Lincoln Southwest High School against the Summerland Bobcats.

MOVING ON! The Huskies defeat Yutan 48-33 to advance to the Class C2 semifinals. West Holt will play tomorrow at 3:15 p.m. in Devaney against the winner of Hartington CC vs. Cross County with a trip to the state championship on the line.

Here we go! Up next is West Holt vs. Yutan at the Bob Devaney Sports Complex for a first-round matchup in the Class C2 tournamnet! Winner advances to the semifinals. Tip-off is in 20 minutes.
