A memorial graveside service for Philip John Keating, age 65 of Atkinson will be held on Saturday, August 21, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. at St. Joseph's Catholic Cemetery at Atkinson.
There will be no visitation the night before.
The public is invited to attend.

NCDHD to have COVID Vaccine Walk-In Clinics
North Central District Health Department (NCDHD) will be hosting COVID vaccine walk-in clinics every Friday at the NCDHD office located at 422 E Douglas Street in O’Neill.
The walk-in clinics will be starting on Friday, August 13th.
Each Friday NCDHD will be offering all three available COVID-19 vaccines; Pfizer, Moderna, and Johnson & Johnson.
Walk-in clinic times will run from 1:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m.
Pfizer vaccine is available to all persons 12 and older and Pfizer, Moderna, and Johnson & Johnson vaccines are available to all those 18 and older.
It is important to note that children 12 to 19 that may be attending a walk-in vaccination clinic need to have the NCDHD School Vaccination Consent form completed prior to arriving to clinic if a parent or guardian will not be present.
All forms are available on our website at ncdhd.ne.gov.
There will be slight time and location adjustment for the Friday, August 27th clinic. This clinic will be held from 1:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the NCDHD office then from 3:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. at the Armory located at 635 North 4th Street in O’Neill.
Call the NCDHD office at 402-336-2406 with any questions. They are available from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.
A memorial service for Terry Greger, age 74, will be held on Tuesday, August 17, 2021 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Atkinson.
Visitation will be held on Monday, August 16, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Seger Funeral Home in Atkinson, with a 7:00 p.m. Rosary Monday.
Visitation will also be held on Tuesday from 9:00 a.m. until the service time at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Atkinson.
Burial will be at a later date.

A funeral service for Caroline (Skopec) Aten, age 83, of Atkinson, Neb. will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, August 11, 2021 at the United Methodist Church in Atkinson.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday August 11, from 9:00 a.m. until the funeral time at the church.
Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery at Atkinson.

Smith to Host Agriculture Summit
Washington, D.C. – Congressman Adrian Smith (R-NE) will host an Agriculture Summit on Wednesday, August 11, in Kearney, Nebraska. The summit will begin at 8:00 a.m. CT.
The summit provides Third District constituents an opportunity to visit with Smith, ask questions, and share their thoughts on the future of agriculture policy. Joining Congressman Smith to discuss disaster relief and the direction of federal agriculture policy will be Mark Slupek, USDA Foreign Ag Service Deputy Administrator for Global Programs, Jordan Schlake, Nebraska Department of Agriculture Trade Representative, John McCoy, Orthman Manufacturing CEO, and Norm Krug, Preferred Popcorn CEO.
“Sound agriculture and trade policies are a crucial part of ensuring Nebraska’s agricultural industry can compete in a global economy,” said Smith. “I look forward to direct engagement from Third District producers on the challenges they face. Getting these policies right will better position our producers to remain amongst the top-producing in the country.”

Gov. Ricketts to Host "Protect Our Kids & Schools" Town Halls in Grand Island & Nebraska City
Governor Pete Ricketts has announced that he will host “Protect Our Kids & Schools” town halls in Grand Island and Nebraska City. At the town halls, Governor Ricketts will discuss major priorities for the state’s schools, including the proposed health education standards and controversial sex education topics contained in them.
At the town hall, Gov. Ricketts and others will deliver remarks about the draft sex education standards, and how Nebraskans can encourage the Nebraska Department of Education to scrap them.
