Austin Hamm was a competitive runner while a student at South Dakota State University in Brookings, S.D.
His running companions were Andrew Thies, Grant VanKeulen and Trent Lusignan. By their own admission they were “good” runners but could never out distance one of their college professors Tim Meyer. His legs were longer and he was “just a better runner”.
