American Legion members, 66 year old Daryl Harrison of Thurston and 74 year old Ken Hanel of West Point, will Walk the Walk, a 432 mile dedication of the Nebraska Medal of Honor Highway which started at 5:00 a.m. MT on Tuesday, May 11th at the Nebraska – Wyoming border. They will finish their walk on Saturday, May 22 at Freedom Park in South Sioux City, Neb.
Harrison and Hanel, along with their entourage will be in Atkinson on Tuesday, May 18, between 5:30 p.m. and 6:00 p.m.
The Atkinson American Legion Post #86 will be offering fellowship and serving burgers, chips and sodas on that day for a free will donation to the community and for the walkers and the support group.
Serving will be from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Atkinson American Legion Post.
