Sandhills Wellness of Atkinson has recently unveiled new healthcare methods in hopes of adding more options to the citizens of Atkinson and surrounding area when it comes to keeping healthy.
“Our main goal is to work alongside of your primary care provider,” said Teresa Kohle, the owner of Sandhills Wellness and Licensed Practical Nurse. “We wanted to offer alternative methods that enhance and help the conditions or the things that a primary care provider is already treating.”
With this goal in mind, Sandhills Wellness has always offered a variety of “unorthodox” mechanisms to help with the healing process or well-being of its customers.
Recently, however, Sandhills Wellness has decided to add even more onto its listing of treatments in hopes of helping those in need.
The current star of these new methods is Neurogenic Brain Balancing.
Neurogenic Brain Balancing is a treatment that uses a gentle process that has been clinically shown to reduce symptoms associated with neurological conditions that stem from imbalances of the brain.
Some of these symptoms include anxiety, chronic fatigue, insomnia, and stress.
With a procedure, Sandhills Wellness is able to use a painless, low-power pulse transcranial stimulation procedure to interrupt unhealthy brain wave patterns and promote new, healthy ones.
While it may sound far-fetched to the unfamiliar eye, public response has said otherwise.
“Public response to Neurogenic Brain Balancing has been wonderful,” said Kohle. “For doing minimal social media and relying mainly on word of mouth, we’ve already done over 80 brain balances since January.”
Another fairly new treatment offered by Sandhills Wellness comes in the form of Ozone Therapy, a therapy based around the gas Ozone, which is produced from medical-grade oxygen that flows through an ozone generator.
While the Ozone Therapy isn’t as new as Brain Balancing, it’s new enough to where it may not be known by everyone in the community interested in what Sandhills Wellness has to offer.
Arguably the best part of Ozone Therapy isn’t just the benefits, but the numerous different ways it can be done.
“We have three different ways that we can use it,” Kohle said. “We have a steam sauna in the back that we can pipe Ozone into the side of, we can use it in what we call insufflation, which means we can put it in olive oil so you can breathe it through your nasal canal which takes down inflammation of sinus cavities, and then we can also run it into your ears which will take down inflammation of your ear canals and some sinus cavities.”
Ozone is also able to be given by “autotherapy”, which is when blood is taken from the patient, put in a sterile bag, and Ozone is gently mixed into the blood and given back to the patient by an infusion.
The benefits of Ozone Therapy include the relaxing and loosening of muscles by reducing build-up of lactic acid, the oxidizing of toxins so they can be eliminated through the skin, lungs, kidneys, and colon, the boosting of blood circulation, and much more. These benefits differentiate depending on how the which method of Ozone Therapy the patient decides upon.
So, while Sandhills Wellness is far from a new face in the community, Kohle and her team continue to stay dedicated to the health and well-being of the citizens of Atkinson and the surrounding area by bringing in new and affordable health-care options.
These new methods are far from the “finishing touches” of the Sandhills Wellness journey, as they already have plans for a new form of treatment in the upcoming months, although there is not enough information on the treatment to publish at the time of press.
