The Wakefield boys and girls track teams travelled to Pierce on Thursday, April 18 for the Tom Martin Memorial/Wausa Invite.
Both the boys’ and girls’ teams took home fared well against the large field of competition, as each team took home sixth place out of 12 teams competing.
Both squads had numerous medalists, with Cael Johnson and Jordan Metzler leading the way. Johnson earned first place in the 110M Hurdles and 300M Hurdles, while Metzler took home first in the 400M run and 300M Hurdles.
After a week with just one invite, the Trojans season will start to pick up tempo again in the upcoming week. They’ll continue their season on Tuesday, April 23 with the Wisner-Pilger Invite, followed by the NEN Track Classic on Wednesday, April 24, where just a select few Trojan athletes will participate.
Following those two meets the Trojans will finish up the week with two more invites. The Lewis and Clark Conference Invite will be on Saturday, April 27 in Ponca, followed by the Wakefield Invite on Monday, April 29 in Wakefield.
