The Wakefield Trojan boys and girls track and field teams travelled to Wayne on Tuesday, April 2 for the Blue Devil Track and Field Invite.
At the Blue Devil Invite, the Trojans took on some tough competition from Wayne, Columbus Lakeview, Boone Central, David City, Pierce, and Columbus Scotus Central Catholic High School.
With such tough competition, the fight for medals was not easy, but the Trojans were able to head home with quite a few earned.
Among those medals earned, two Lady Trojans were able to win their event. Jordan Metzler took home first in the 400 M Dash with a time of 1:02.10, while Boston Brown was crowned champion of the girls triple jump with a jump of 34’-06”.
Led by Brown and Metzler, the Lady Trojans finished the day in seventh place as a team with 35 team points scored.
The boys’ squad, on the other hand, was able to take home sixth place as a team with 32 points scored, despite not having any individual event champions.
After a solid meet, the Trojans have a week to relax and get back to top-form before travelling to Lyons-Decatur for the Lyons-Decatur Track Invite on Tuesday, April 9.
