The Crofton/Bloomfield Lady Warriors wrestling team took its talents to Columbus on Thursday, Jan. 8 to compete in the Norm Manstedt Girls Invite.
At one of the largest invites of the regular season, the Lady Warriors competed against wrestlers from 43 other schools.
After a long day on the mats, the Lady Warriors found themselves in fair position as they finished in tenth place as a team and saw four medalists in the varsity division.
Leading the way for the Warriors at the Norm Manstedt Invite was Madison Nelson with a sixth-place finish in the 110-pound bracket, Bethany Arens with a fourth-place finish in the 145-pound bracket, Elizabeth DeRoos with a fifth-place finish in the 170-pound bracket, and Reagin Rahn, who captured fourth in the 235-pound bracket.
To add the cherry on top, the Warriors also saw two junior varsity wrestlers place in the top three of their respective weight classes. Balla Hetzel went 2-0 on the day in the 115-pound junior varsity bracket, while Shaun Anderson earned third place in the 170-pound junior varsity bracket.
Looking ahead, the Lady Warriors will have a tough week ahead of them as they enter the second half of their season.
First, the Warriors will stay home to host a triangular with Bon Homme, S.D., and Pierce on Thursday, Jan. 15.
The Warriors triangular will then be followed by the Ord Invite on Friday, Jan. 16, and the Plainview Invite on Saturday, Jan. 17.
Finally, the Lady Warriors will wrap up their upcoming week with the Neligh-Oakdale Girls Invite on Friday, Jan. 23.
