Crofton Warrior marching band takes first place at state competition

The Crofton Warrior Marching band fielded a show at the Nebraska State Band Association’s state marching competition, bringing home first-place honors in the Class 1A division, and increased their performance score from last year.

The band performed the show “Agent 54” written by Randall Standridge.

Nebraska State Band Association hosts three sites - two of which are non-competitive and bands attend for a rating.

Crofton attended the third, competitive, site held at Buell Stadium in Omaha. This site has bands of all sizes compete against each other as well as state champions within the class size.

Crofton was the 1A champion and raised their score by over 6 points from last year.

“The kids worked hard this season. The progress from week 1 to Saturday was phenomenal - I have never experienced such growth within a season,” said Band Instructor Ashely Leader. “I am proud of them. Beating all 1A and 2A schools and successfully competing against Millard North, Bellevue West, Gretna and many more. They held their heads high and represented Crofton to the absolute best of their abilities.”
