Addyson Ostermeyer and Jacee Anthony share a 2nd place finish.

The Warriors track and field team took nine athletes to the Norfolk Track Classic to compete on Thursday, May 1.

The boys 4x400 relay, which consists of junior Charles Steffen, sophomore Porter Bartels, junior Jace Panning, and junior Jackson Lynde had a season best of 3:35.12 and took home 4th place. Bartels said, ”Through every stride and handoff, we ran not just for the time, but for each other. We were very proud to place at the Norfolk Classic and prove what teamwork and heart can do!"

Freshman Cecilia Wortmann also set a personal record, with a time of 5:45.68 in her 1600m run, taking 5th. She also competed in the 800m run, placing 8th and besting her personal record by over six seconds.

Jacee Anthony and Addyson Ostermeyer, both juniors, tied for 2nd place in pole vault, reaching 9-06.00. Ostermeyer stated,”I kept thinking, ‘Just get over the bar,’ and focusing on what Coach taught me. It was fun competing with Jacee because we push each other and we got to share 2nd place.“

Two other Crofton athletes also qualified and competed at the Norfolk Track Classic. Freshman Kaden Arens took 10th in the boys 1600m run, and junior Sophia Wortmann placed 11th in the girls 1600m run.
